Electric Guitar Coach uses both original songs and songs by some of the world’s great artists.

Click on the links below for information, links and newsgroups about the bands and artists whose songs are used in Electric Guitar Coach.

Black Sabbath

‘Paranoid’ from the 1970 album of the same name is a famous rock track. With Tony Iommi on guitar, it was famously recorded in only 5 days. Paranoid uses Power Chords, Palm Muting and Hammer-Ons and appears in Level 4 of Electric Guitar Coach.

Bryan Adams

‘Run To You’ appears in Level 5 of Electric Guitar Coach and uses fast cross string picking, moved open chord shapes and off beat strumming.

Bush

‘Swallowed’ appears very early on in Electric Guitar Coach and is a great song for using power chords all over the guitar. Written by Gavin Rossdale and appearing on Bush’s ‘Razorblade Suitcase’ album, it’s a great example of how a great songwriter can write a classic song using very few chords.

Dodgy

‘One of Those Rivers’ is a great guitar/vocal track from Dodgy’s excellent 1997 album ‘Free Peace Sweet’. The song is played fingerstyle and makes a lot of use of barre technique. It comes in Level 5 of Electric Guitar Coach where fingerstyle playing is covered in some detail.

Eric Clapton

‘Sunshine of Your Love’ is a famous track that every guitarist should know how to play. It uses lots of different techniques such as slides, bends and vibrato, to create memorable guitar riffs, and appears in Level 4 of Electric Guitar Coach.

Green Day

In ‘Time of Your Life’ Billie Joe Armstrong shows himself to be a sublime singer/songwriter/guitarist. It appears in Level 3 of Electric Guitar Coach where all the open chords are covered.

Placebo

Though Nancy Boy is a very fast song it uses almost entirely power chords and appears very early in Electric Guitar Coach. It’s very exciting to play especially when you play with the full band accompaniment.

Paul Weller

‘The Changing Man’ is one of the many brilliant songs on Paul Weller’s ‘Stanley Road’ album. It involves fast cross string plectrum technique and appears in Level 5 of Electric Guitar Coach.
